LiFi Tested in Real World, Proves It’s 100 Times Faster than WiFi

Li-Fi is the futuristic world of internet connection  Li-Fi A new high speed internet technology known as LiFi allows data to be sent at remarkably high speeds using visible light technology, as opposed to WiFi’s radio waves. And this tech just moved out of the lab and into the real world for the first time. Estonian startup, Velminni, recently began tests in order to get ready for the commercial use of the product. The company has started trials in offices and industrial centers in the Estonian capital, Tallinn. And so far, the results are staggering. “We are doing a few pilot projects within different industries where we can utilize the VLC (visible light communication) technology,” Deepak Solanki, CEO of Velmenni, told IBTimes UK. “Currently we have designed a smart lighting solution for an industrial environment where the data communication is done through light. We are also doing a pilot project with a private client where we are setting up a LiFi network to a...

Open egg and finds another one inside

Chris and Jane Keast couldn't believe their eyes when they witnessed the result of a rare phenomenon Yolk: The little egg was discovered inside the larger egg A woman was left shell-shocked when she cracked open an egg only to find another one perfectly intact inside. Smallholder Chris Keast thought his wife Jane was cracking up when she made the amazing discovery while preparing their tea. They couldn't believe their eyes when she broke the extra-large egg and the second one simply rolled out into her frying pan. When she told husband Chris he thought she was joking but ended up reaching for his  mobile phone  to take a picture when he looked at the pan. The inner-egg was the size of a 2p piece and its shell was still in one piece. Jane cracked it open and found there was no yolk inside, just the egg white. Penguins could hold secret to stopping planes crashing

Flightless penguins could hold secret to stopping planes crashing in icy conditions Research: Science behind penguins' feathers could be applied to planes They may be famous for being flightless, but the reason why penguins do not freeze could hold a clue that prevents aeroplanes from crashing, according to a study by rocket scientists. Researchers have discovered why the birds manage to keep their feathers ice free even though they are constantly coming out of the sea and hitting temperatures which can fall to a staggering minus 40 degrees celsius. And if they can apply it to the wings of aircraft, they may be able to stop ice forming which, in some cases, has been known to lead to  the planes crashing . All penguins have water repelling oil in their feathers. But aerospace engineers discovered penguins in the coldest regions on earth had even more efficient feathers than those in warmer climes. Zombie Fish

'Zombie fish' brought back to life thanks to miracle white powder The poor swimmer is nearly dead at the start of this video, but a mystery pick-me-up soon does its work Play 0:00 / 0:43 Fullscreen Mute Share This video looks like a piece of magic - no camera trickery guaranteed. But it's actually just the appliance of some pretty cool science that you might remember from the classroom. The fish is lying motionless in the water until someone sprinkles some magic white powder on the surface. Within seconds,  it is alert and swimming  , seemingly unaware of what's happened to its physiology. The vice-president of the Guangxi Fisheries Science Research Institute, Li Xiaozheng, in Nanning, southern China’s Guangxi region, said the miracle life-giving powder was in fact sodium peroxide, an inorganic compound with the formula Na2O2. CEN Almost fin-ished: The fish was close to death w...
